Baby Huey, the 18-month-old whose name has become synonymous with the word “ice,” was named the 2016 “Baby of the Year” by the Baby Boom Baby List.
The baby was born March 4, 2016, in Denver, Colorado.
“Ice is a baby name that’s always been popular,” said Tiffany, Huey’s mother.
“We have a lot of people asking for it.”
The baby is one of six babies to make the Baby of the Decade list, which is composed of babies born in the U.S. since 1980.
Huey is one member of the Baby Names of the year category.
The other Baby Names in the Baby Name of the Jan. 31, 2017, issue of The Wall Street Journal’s Baby List of the World, are: The Queen’s Own, Beggar’s, Bogey, Boy, and Cabbage.
Hueys are one of two babies born with an unusual name.
A couple years ago, Hueys were among a group of babies named after the Beatles.
Hueiys were also among the babies named “Ginger,” “Gimlet,” “Kiki,” and “Taco.”
The other baby on the list is a 3-year-old named Shiba.
The name “Shiba” was used to refer to an animal, but has since been used to describe a person.
