A woman from Florida is fighting for her life after being given the diagnosis of breast cancer.
The 29-year-old said she was diagnosed with the cancer in August, but didn’t think about the possibility until her second birthday.
“I think my body was not ready for it,” she told CNN.
“It was just so scary.
I was scared.
I just thought about what I was going to do with my life and what I would do with this body.”
She told CNN that her mother was the first person she told about the diagnosis.
“She’s like, ‘Oh, you’re not going to die from this,'” she said.
“That’s what I thought.
I didn’t really think about that.”
The Florida woman said she doesn’t want the news to be interpreted as a rejection of her mother, who is now her primary caregiver.
“People are going to be like, well you’re a little bit crazy,” she said, explaining that the fact she was able to be in a position where she can be around her family was a “huge blessing.”
“I’m a very independent person, so I want to have a place where I can be and not have to worry about the stress of being the caregiver and having to take care of myself and being the parent,” she added.
“This has just given me a chance to just relax.”
The mother said she hopes to be able to keep her daughter busy while still being able to care for her daughter.
“Right now I’m just taking care of her, just being in the moment,” she explained.
“There’s a lot of things going on that I can’t handle right now.”
