The NBA is expected to announce its decision on a possible relocation by the end of this week, with the NBA Board of Governors set to vote on the decision later today, league sources told ESPN.
The league also is expected be releasing its decision this week on a proposed move to Atlanta, a source told ESPN on Friday.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver is expected in New York on Tuesday for meetings with NBA owners, according to league sources.
The Atlanta Hawks have a meeting with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver on Tuesday, sources told Yahoo Sports.
The Hawks are in the middle of a deal to move the franchise from Seattle to Atlanta.
The NBA has yet to announce the date for the meeting.
Atlanta is also in the midst of a $1.1 billion deal with Comcast to purchase the NBA’s rights to televise the NBA All-Star Game in 2019.
The Atlanta Hawks and the NBA are expected to meet on Tuesday.
Sources told Yahoo sports that Silver will make a final decision on the NBA move before meeting with owners.
The decision could be announced as early as Wednesday, sources said.
Silver, who will step down as commissioner of the NBA at the end, is scheduled to visit New York City later this week to meet with owners, sources have said.
The commissioner will then meet with the team owners and discuss the possibility of the team moving to Atlanta in the future, sources added.
